Masonry structures are some of the grandest and most majestic buildings in the Pacific Northwest. The purpose of the Awards is to give recognition to the mason contractors, architects, and general contractors for outstanding examples of masonry design and construction. Judging is based on aesthetic and technical design achievements and masonry craftsmanship.

The Masonry Institute of Washington was founded in 1972 to promote the masonry industry, provide technical information and resources, and provide a liaison between the public and mason contractors.

The purpose of this web site is to develop and promote confidence in the design and use of wall systems through education and information.
